 How does the 13A Visa work?

The 13A Spousal Visa entails a 2-stage process, offering a seamless pathway to long-term residency in the Philippines:

  • Conversion to 13A Probationary Residency: 

  The initial stage involves converting to 13A Probationary Residency. During this period, applicants receive a visa and an Alien Certificate of Registration Identity Card (ACR I Card) valid for one year. This allows spouses to live and work in the Philippines with certain probationary conditions.

  • Amendment to 13A Permanent Residency: 

Upon successfully completing the probationary period, spouses can proceed to the amendment stage for 13A Permanent Residency. During this stage, the visa holder is granted a permanent visa and an ACR I Card valid for a renewable period of five years. This provides long-term stability and peace of mind, enabling spouses to fully embrace their life in the Philippines. Please be informed that it is recommended to apply for the amendment 3-4 months before the 13A Probationary Residency expires.

 What are the requirements in applying for a 13A visa in the Philippines?

In order to obtain a 13A Spousal Visa, it is crucial to meet specific requirements mandated by the Philippine government. As an Accredited Agency of the Bureau of Immigration, we strongly advise our clients to prioritize the following essential requirements:

  • PSA Report of Marriage or Foreign Marriage Certificate with Apostille or PH Embassy authentication if married abroad.

  • PSA Marriage Certificate

  • PSA Live Birth Certificate of the Filipino Spouse 

  • Original Passport and Valid Tourist Visa: 

  • Original and Valid Government-Issued ID of the Filipino Spouse 

  • NBI Clearance of the Foreign Applicant
